1. In the House of My Mind project we were supposed to take pictures of things related to our lives, like how we live and how we do certain deeds, using the great operating system called Photoshop. I wanted to show how I like to explore, thus I tried to integrate me climbing objects, with a Where's Waldo theme.
I felt that my final product did not need to be finished on the last day it was due. I had a lot of trouble thinking of ideas, but I felt I persevered through. I learned that my artistic views are somewhat good, I just need to think more outside the box and think more creatively.

House of My Mind
In this photo, I decided to take pictures of 4 hand shapes that were outside the digital media lab. Then I took a picture of the large tree outside the classroom. Since it was such a beautiful day outside, a tree had a really cool shadow, so I integrated the tree as if the shadow was actually the shadow of the tree. This made a really cool illusion that I thought was fascinating.
In this photo above, it's a contradicting picture of a man throwing out leaves into a trash bin. If you see this around campus you can tell that this man and bin are on recycling bins. I also put a tin foil background and a tree with cool shadows. If you can see closely, I'm climbing up the guys leg.
In this photo above, I took the beautiful view of Ross, and put a tinfoil layer. Then, I put a mask on leaves on top of the trees, which allowed it to look really cool by having smaller leaves on a larger tree. I put myself climbing the trees because it is part of my theme in trying to find my climbing a vast number of things.
In this photo above, I decided to take pictures of myself in the motion of climbing. I then took a picture of the flag pole at school. I did this picture because it felt patriotic and showed perseverance in getting to the top when climbing something.

Final Reflection
What skills have you come into this class with that have been helpful? What skill have you most needed to cultivate?
A. Being able to have a good eye for what you want to take pictures of. The skill I have most needed to cultivate is taking pictures with good aperture/depth of field.
How have these skills been helpful?
A. Having a good eye makes you think really hard about what your photos want to look like, so having the ability to do that makes taking photos a lot easier. The aperture/depth of field is key because the lighting of the picture completely summarizes what your intent was for that photo.
What skills did you realize that you need to improve in order to be successful in this class?
A. I need to improve on using my film camera more effectively and with better use. I struggled this year with the aperture and focus, which really came back to hurt my skills as a photographer.
What steps have you undertaken to improve these skills?
A. Over the summer break, as well as, in Intermediate Photography I plan to work a lot harder on using my aperture, and looking at my camera manual to understand why it hasn't been working.
What excites you about photography right now?
A. What really has excited me about photography this year is the use of studio lighting because I felt very good about the location of the lights and the quality it was taken at.
My favorite photograph I have taken is a picture of a boat in a bush using studio lights. I was very excited about the quality it was taken at as well as the variety of color.
My favorite project this year was still life with studio lighting because i particularly enjoyed my object, the group I was in, and the photos I took. This is a project that I would like to do more in the coming years of Photography.
My least favorite project this year was the darkroom abstract project because I didn't feel great about the photos I took, and also I didn't develop them well. The aperture was off, as well as the focus. This year I had pretty good luck with the darkroom, but in this project it wasn't my brightest moment.

Still Life with Studio Lighting
For this project, I felt very strong about my photographs because my object, the ship, was very articulate. The lighting for everything looked very professional. This was my favorite project on Photography

Abstract Darkroom
This project did not entirely work for me because the lighting and aperture for all my photos were very light. When I was taking my photos there was a delay from the time I pressed the button to when the photo clicked. This brought in a lot of light making the pictures very bright. After this project, I adjusted my camera to make it able to shut after the button was pressed. I was very upset because I felt that the pictures I took would've looked very good.
